Congratulations to Patrick Vernay who topped off his season with a win in the Ironman Western Australia 2007. The New Caledonian triathlete finished in a time of 8:06:11 taking a huge 15 minutes off his personal best. Australian Mitch Anderson finished in third place, declaring the event as his best race ever taking 5 minutes from his personal best time.
Women's winner Charlotte Paul set a new course record with an impressive 9:00:55 and added that a late switch to a time trial bike made a big difference in setting the day's winning time.
Shimano was proud to be a sponsor of the 2007 Ironman Western Australia and once again provided bicycle tech support for the duration of the event.
