World Champion Niels Albert (BKCP-Powerplus) has won yesterdays Steenbergcross in Erpe-Mere, Belgium; the traditional Cyclo-Cross season opener. He started a solo in the second lap and rode easily to victory. A good start of the new season in which Albert is eager to show that he is worth wearing the rainbow jersey.

Albert was using the SHIMANO DURA-ACE Di2 electronic shifting system that gives him the opportunity to shift faster and completely effortless. Also his main rivals Sven Nijs (Landbouwkrediet) and Lars Boom (Rabobank) will use DURA-ACE Di2 technology in the coming months.

Niels Albert is also riding SHIMANO SH-M310S shoes, SHIMANO wheels, SHIMANO Zenith Eyewear and a PRO Vibe handlebar and stem.
